The Squadron will be conducting Power Familiarization Flights on Saturday, 1 Jun and Sunday 2 Jun 24. The flights will be staged from the Calgary Flying Club at the Springbank Airport, between 0800-1230hrs each day. The sign-up sheet is posted here:

Please provide your Last Name, First Name, Training Level, Weight (in pounds), and whether you have been flying yet this year (glider in fall 2023 or May 2024, or power in June 2023).
We will prioritize flights based on your previous flying experiences with the Squadron, priority will go to those cadets who have not yet been flying, and then to those cadets who have not yet had a Power Familiarization Flight.
The sign-up sheets will close midnight, Monday 27 May.
The final Flying List will be posted by Wednesday, May 29. The Flying List will also include the time of your flight, along with other important information.
As always, if you don’t make the Flying List this time, you’ll be given priority for the next flying opportunities.

Congratulations to the following cadets on their promotions this month! If your name is listed and you were absent, please see 2Lt Tran Jacqueline on any Tuesday in the Officer’s Office to receive your new ranks.
Big congratulations to WO2 Wheater and WO2 Rasheed for being promoted to Warrant Officer Second Class which is the second highest rank in the cadet program. Following their merit review board, they were identified as fitting candidates to lead the squadron.
Another big congratulations to F/Sgt Zhu for his Drum Major recognition!

Important Music Level Testing Update - NEW DATE Sat, May 25, 2024
To all cadets registered for Music Level Testing, please find important information below.
We were recently advised that due to the volume of cadets across the region looking to complete their music testing, they have opened a second date to accommodate everyone. Our squadron’s music level testing date has been pushed to Sat, May 25, 2024 same time 0800hrs to 1500 hrs.
A MS Teams link will be emailed to each cadet’s Cadet 365 email and is provided below. You are required to ensure you have access to your account.
Please note the following details provided to us:
1. Your cadet is expected to arrive on time and be ready for testing
2. The cadets are required to have the following ready for time of testing
- Working Webcam
- Working Microphone, that can capture the tone of there musical instrument
- Should the cadet have technical difficulties we may have to stop and test, and unfortunately may not be able to reschedule.
3. Due to the high volume of cadet wishing to level test we will not be able to test cadets for multiple instruments
4. Once your cadet has clicked on the below link at the specified time the cadet will go in to the level testing que. Please note depending on cadets in the que they may sit in the digital waiting room. This is very normal for a level test and we ask that cadets are patient while they wait.
